Admiral Petroleum
Admiral Petroleum Co. is a Michigan Corporation who had its beginnings in Greenville Michigan in the 1950's with incorporation in 1956. It started out with its first stores in Greenville, retailing gasoline and a few sundries at a couple locations that still operate today.
Admiral was one of the first pioneers of the milk, bread, and egg concept in gas stations. This concept has caught on industry wide along with a abundance of other convenience items over the years.
Admiral Petroleum Co.'s main objective over the years has been and still is "giving the customer a fair value for their dollar". This has been accomplished by eliminating the middleman and buying in bulk, warehousing and distributing most of its products directly to the Admiral Ship Stores.
In 1987, Admiral Petroleum Co. moved its offices to its current location in Coopersville Michigan. In 1995 Admiral started another division with "Admiral Discount Tobacco". This concept is a wholesale and retail marketing of tobacco products in a strip mall setting.
Admiral today employs approximately 1400 people and operates 165 stores...covering all of the lower peninsula of Michigan...with stores in the upper peninsula and Indiana.
